A Better LinkedIn Content Strategy Builds All Four Layers

Most people mistake LinkedIn for a distribution channel when it is really a trust system.

The feed is important. Because it is the most visible layer, it is often the one professionals focus on most. It helps you stay visible and top of mind. LinkedIn works best when your content does more than just show up in the scroll.

Use LinkedIn Like This. Association Sponsorships Follow.

My friend Bruce Rosenthal has been saying this for years: most association professionals approach corporate sponsorships with the wrong question. They ask what they have to sell instead of what the partner needs to achieve.

I have been saying something parallel since 2011. Most association professionals use LinkedIn with the wrong instinct. They treat it like a whack-a-mole list — connect, skip every step in between, go straight to the ask. Sponsorship packages in the first message. Booth opportunities before a single real conversation.

Bruce and I are describing the same failure from different angles. And LinkedIn, used correctly, is a meaningful part of the fix.

80% show up occasionally and wonder why nothing converts

15% understand the value and are starting to lean in

5% have built a real system, run it consistently, and produce results that surprise even them

People keep asking me why they don't see posts from their actual connections anymore.

The answer is not complicated. LinkedIn optimized your feed for reactions, viral content, and ads. Not for the people you actually know. The same logic that drives every social media platform drove LinkedIn in this direction — engagement metrics, not network value.

That is a problem if you are on LinkedIn to do business.

If you are not seeing your connections in your feed, they are probably not seeing you. You are both scrolling past strangers while your actual network goes quiet. That is not a feed. That is a missed opportunity running on autopilot.

At Intero Advisory, we have always been big on a proactive strategy. The platform will not fix this for you. You have to fix it yourself. The good news is it takes about five minutes.

AI Can Write Your Posts. But Should It?

Every day, your LinkedIn feed is filled with words written by machines. Can you tell which ones?

AI has made it easier than ever to post. Easier does not always mean better.

As I run Intero Advisory while caregiving for my husband with Parkinson's, time is my most precious resource. AI helps me reclaim some of it — allowing more time for client calls, deliverables, and thinking about where our business is headed. That is AI's actual promise. More time back. Not more noise. Not the illusion of productivity.

Should ChatGPT Be Your Private Notepad?
